Leah Duncan

Leah Duncan is an American illustrator and surface pattern designer who produces many of her beautiful pieces by hand in her studio. Each piece is hand-drawn using soft colours and reflects her own unique sensibilities. Her quirky and organic pieces are inspired by nature, simplicity, her surroundings, and her Cherokee roots.

After two years living in New York, Leah and her husband re-located to Austin, Texas in search of sunny weather and great Mexican food. It was then that she discovered her innate creativity, starting with drawings and moving into textiles.

"Like many creatives, I'm convinced it's one of the only things I'm good at. I tried to be good at math. I took piano lessons once. I even wanted to be an architect. But art is the only thing that stuck. And in a way—a very real way—it saved my life. Much like finding a soulmate, when I found design, I knew we would be together forever.

Having my own business was one of the biggest challenges of my life, but also the most thrilling. I loved that I was putting my work out into the world and making a name for myself. I was in love. I breathed it"
